Tyler met Jon-Tyler on her first day at Auburn. He was visiting her new roommate, and she thought she had walked into the wrong apartment. Six years later, both families gathered for their wedding in Fallbrook, California.
My first trip.
This was my first travel wedding with Midsummer, and I had a blast. Garrett ran the Super 8. Three of us in that Tahoe the whole weekend felt like the way they tell me it started.
Behind the Lens
Documentary first.
I shot this one closer to a documentary than we usually go, and went cinematic when the light was good. The venue made it easy. The interview spots were right there, the day ran smooth, the ceremony was beautiful, and the vendors we met in California were some of the best I have worked beside.

The detour.
We flew into San Diego and drove up to Fallbrook. On the way to the rehearsal dinner, a blocked interstate sent our rental Tahoe onto a winding dirt road through the hills, with Lil Wayne on the speakers. Three of us in one car, getting ready for a wedding. That was my favorite memory of the trip.

LA, before the flight to Utah.
After the wedding we drove up to LA. Venice Beach, the skate park, a grand piano on the grass, and the Beverly Hills sign through a car window. None of us had seen any of it. Two days later we were in Utah for Liv and Tenny.
