Raley was sixteen and Drew was seventeen.
She and her friend Rose had plans to go to a football game, changed their minds at the last minute, and drove out to a bonfire in Enterprise instead. Raley saw him and asked who he was.
Drew asked a friend for her number the same night.
Early on, Raley told her mom she was going to marry him. Her mom had met him once, at a Waffle House after a football game, and had not expected to see him again.
They both went to college in Tuscaloosa, where Raley cheered for Alabama.
Drew lived across the street, and her roommates called him for anything that needed fixing, moving or checking.
Behind the Lens
I wanted their engagement film to begin with the two of them talking, before the music came in. That conversation gave us a chance to hear Raley and Drew together, then let the Zach Bryan song carry us through the rest of the session. The idea worked exactly how we had hoped. We had this time with them before the wedding, and their conversation became the opening of the story we could tell.
