Mary-Morgan & Colt.
Colt’s first message was a Friends meme. Mary-Morgan had never seen the show and didn’t answer. He tried again. By the time he proposed, she had already booked her dress appointment.
Behind the Lens
She asked for a movie.
Mary-Morgan was the first bride who asked us for that kind of film. We spent several days with her and Colt: choosing the dress, the bachelorette trip, the wedding, and the photographs. We also filmed them acting out parts of the stories they were telling, so their narration could lead into a scene.

Behind the Lens
Making the story visible.
I tried to edit this like a movie, weaving those scenes into their voices instead of leaving every story in an interview. Smith put a lot into the lighting and creative framing. We spent a lot of time getting it right, and it was a fun one to make. Mary-Morgan was happy with where it landed.
