From spring break to the aisle.
Lauren and Wilson went to the same high school, although they don’t quite agree on how well they knew each other back then. A spring break night changed that: they danced, kept talking, and he asked her to prom. Five years later, Lauren could guess exactly what he was doing on their wedding morning: swimming in the lake with the guys. She was right, and that little exchange says a lot about how well they know each other now.

The morning.
We filmed Lauren and Wilson's wedding very candidly, with the conversations doing most of the storytelling. The morning is a good place to see that approach: getting ready, catching up with friends, and hearing how they were feeling all stay in the film. We were still learning how to conduct the interviews and how many we needed for an edit. Lauren and Wilson were easy to work with, and I was really happy with how their film came together.

The reception.
The reception is another highlight for me in Lauren and Wilson's film. There is dancing and celebrating, but there are also the voices of their friends and family running through the sequence. We shot very little separate B-roll for this wedding, so those conversations carry a lot of the edit. I liked how much of the day we could keep through the people who were actually there.
