Julianna and Jake first dated in high school. After a short breakup, she realized how much she missed him, while Jake says he had been waiting for her. In college, Julianna started writing letters for him and kept them to give him later. She brought them to their wedding day at New Water Farms. Their film follows the morning on both sides, the first looks by the water and the ceremony, with those years together behind everything they were about to say.
Behind the Lens
Making the documentary film.
Julianna and Jake’s wedding at New Water Farms was one of the first where we really committed to making a documentary. Smith and I spent time working out the microphones and camera angles so we could follow the day from more than one side. In the edit, I started seeing how the conversations and the footage could work together. This was one of the weddings where I got so excited about the kind of films we were starting to make.
