The drive to North Carolina.
Kristina & Devin Thorpe — Emerald Isle
e rented a van for North Carolina, and Jameson, Anna Lee, Matt and I ended up leaving later than we should have. We went through Enterprise to pick up Matt and made another stop in Auburn. By midnight I was looking at Jameson, asking when we were actually going to get to the Airbnb. The answer was six in the morning. I normally look forward to a long drive; my parents used to live in West Virginia, so those trips were nothing new. This one was testing that reputation.
By about two-thirty or three, everyone else had been asleep and I was fighting to stay awake.
By about two-thirty or three, everyone else had been asleep and I was fighting to stay awake. We pulled into a gas station and I told Jameson he was going to have to take the rest of the drive. I went straight to sleep in the back of the van. We finally got there at six, took a very long nap and then headed out to meet Kristina, Devin and their family at the rehearsal dinner. North Carolina was gorgeous, even after that drive.
After rehearsal we asked if we could come back to the house and film some interviews. We got to hang out with them a little more while we recorded, which was a great way to start getting to know everyone before the wedding. Their venue was this enormous house right on the coast. Once we saw it, we started figuring out all the different places we could film from. We had the wedding ahead of us, a full crew together and a location that was going to be a lot of fun to work in.
